Today was my first doctor appointment since leaving Indiana. This month technically I should have been on two week appts, but with moving and having to get insurance staightened out and records transferred as well as finding a doctor to take me...it definately ran us behind. Everything checked out good though despite the absence of the two week appts. We heard the heartbeat again which was in the 130's...her heartbeat was in the same area at our last appt. To date, at 34 weeks and 1 day, I have gained 5lbs. Right on track in comparison to the other two kids. It was a long appointment with going through all the history and family history and updating the new doctor on all the information. I measured good and the doctor even gave the kids a laugh as she drew on my stomach how the baby was laying. They really got a kick out of that!! The doctor's office that we have chosen is right next to the hospital. There are 3 doctors and 3 midwives; we have chosen to go with a midwife. We learned today that a midwife and a doctor are always on call and there is a doctor that oversees every midwife. The main difference is that the mid wife is at the hospital with you through the entire labor and delivery. The main difference is that the doctor has the certification for any complications and for a needed c-section. We liked the idea of having the mid wife there throughout the labor and delivery rather than a doctor who only comes in to deliver. Especially with having the kids there with us, we knew this was the best decision is easing them through the process and helping to keep them comfortable.
We go in for the next appt in two weeks and will meet with a doctor then to go over my records from Indiana. Then we are on to one week appts! Wow! Just a month to just over a month and baby Rebekah will be here! I better get back into all of her stuff just to be sure everything is ready to go and we got everything =)
