It was then the story got really bizarre...the collapse of the attraction reminded me of the stuff I had seen only in the movies. Something strange was obviously happening, and yet...no one was talking about it. It was out of place, secret, and unsettling.
The clown broke character, you opened up a wall, and began to travel behind the scenes. The reality is that life can get confusing, befuddling, upsetting, and downright scary sometimes.
This 'crazy train' experience can give us moments of satisfaction, but we’re still left with a huge hole in our souls. Sometimes though, we are completely caught by surprise with something that really makes it real - the feeling of being genuinely happy. When someone is genuinely concerned about our happiness, we feel connected to that person. We feel included in their life, and in that instant we are no longer alone. Each moment of unconditional acceptance creates a living thread to the person who accepts us, and these threads weave something powerful that fills us with a genuine and lasting happiness. Only something that is real can do that. In addition, when we know that even one person accepts us unconditionally, we feel a connection to everyone else. We feel included in the family of all mankind, of which that one person is a part.
Without this that we consider real, we find nothing but the worst kind of pain, and we’ll go to great lengths to keep ourselves safe from experiencing more pain. If we can’t have genuine happiness, then we find ourselves doing everything in our power to avoid more. Toward that end, we avoid doing anything unfamiliar. We stay in the same boring, dead-end attempt to learn nothing new, and continue in stagnant, unrewarding—but predictable—circumstances.
Sometimes I wonder if what is happening for me in the now could be too good to be true, but in the end, I trust in the author and perfecter of what I believe because what we ask for in Him, we in return shall receive. "Where your treasure is, your heart will be also" is how the saying goes I may not know what tomorrow may bring, for God is the only one who knows.
So the choice is ours...we can choose to ignore and try to handle things on our own...or choose to trust and believe, and everything in between...
