But we often still choose to avoid discomfort, missing out on amazing experiences or relationships because we fear that feeling.
Yet discomfort is not a “stumbling block”, but a “building block”. Rather than inhibiting our growth, it can actually cause our growth. If we allow it, incredible things can emerge from uncomfortable situations (within reason, of course).

It’s like learning to ride a bike for the first time without training wheels — uncomfortable, but ultimately rewarding. You might fall and hurt yourself multiple times, but you wind up developing a hobby and skill that will last you a lifetime.
In the same way: Exercise is uncomfortable, but it leads to a great body. Studying is uncomfortable, but it leads to good grades. Intimacy is uncomfortable, but it leads to love. Jesus’ death on the cross was uncomfortable, but it led to Salvation.
My point is that we should stop avoiding awesome opportunities simply because we feel “uncomfortable”. Often it takes moments of great discomfort to achieve great success. When we finally release the idea that “discomfort” is automatically a “negative” thing, perhaps our lives will feel much more fruitful. ;)
