Living Loneliness

In the bible there are numerous accounts of Christians expressing their need for a sign from God in their deepest time of need. Such eagerness to hear the Lord is seen in many parts of the bible for instance in Psalm 30:10 "Hear, O LORD, when I cry aloud; be gracious to me and answer me!" Another example is in Psalms 42:2, 10 "With my whole heart I cry; answer me, O LORD!"

The truth is, Christians should not feel alone ever. By being filled with the holy spirit, no Christians live alone and none ever die alone. It is at our loveliest moment that evil tries to sneak its way into our hearts through feeling the emotion of loneliness. Luckily for most people, our hearts are already filled to capacity and overflowing.

How do we fight loneliness as a Christian?  The darkest moments are those that we must reach towards God the most and use all our strength to increase our understanding of the word. Everything happens for a reason.

Being on Earth is not supposed to be all carnivals and cotton candy, it is a time that we as Christians are supposed to increase our love for God and learn of the trials that those on earth are living. Jesus was sent here for one important purpose, to die on the cross and to forgive us of all our sins. If that were not enough, his gracious heart leaned towards the people to hear the pain and evils that they have to overcome daily. There is suffering on earth, something that should not have been but is.

David wrote, "I shall fear no evil, for Thou art with me" in Psalm 23. He declared that evil was the fear itself and that he was not to be lonely because God was with him at all times.

So, by taking in loneliness one is taking in fear that is sent from the devil. Fear is a conscious choice not an emotion that is preset such as love. So when one chooses to be lonely, one is taking in evil. As all evil does, loneliness takes over the soul and detours it away from the Word. It is important when feeling spurts of loneliness that God is always with us and answers all prayers. Therefore, when a new life experience is thrown into your life, take it as you would anything else and pray for support. God does not put anyone in a situation that He does not think one can get out of with a little work and determination.
