Coming After You

Desire swells up like a flood. Hunger runs rampant. Thirst fights for relief. There is a generation in our midst that has committed itself to seeking the presence of God. They tremble at the possibilities of an encounter, raising cries of praise and worship as they strive to push deeper into His very throne room.

These lives are on the chase. They are chasing after God himself.

They desire to know the rhythm of God’s heart beat, to be at His feet in worship. They desire to taste of the
Lord, to know that He is good, to be immersed in His presence.
"One thing have I asked of the Lord, that will I seek, inquire for, and require: that I may dwell in the house of the Lord  all the days of my life, to behold and gaze upon the beauty  of the Lord and to meditate, consider, and inquire in His temple.” Psalm 27: 4
For many of us, this describes us in our first encounter with God. Our souls longed for him, and we loved the Lord with all of our heart, soul, strength, and mind.
Yet something happened in our journey to that very throne room. Obstacle after obstacle began to set up in front of our pursuit, and we no longer desired to continue the chase. For some of us the chase seemed impossible, for others no longer as valuable as the obstacles that blocked our view of the prize, and yet others settled into with content.
It is easy in this Christian walk to fall into routine, to be tempted by sin, to place our eyes on the things of this earth instead of the things above. We may fall into this false perception that where we find ourselves is it. But I hope to awaken a desire deep within your spirit.
There is so much more. If only you would seek it.
The opportunity to persist relentlessly in seeking God’s presence is always available to us. We have been found by God, and now our desire should be to actively find him.
“What were we made for? To know God. What aim should we have in life? To know God. What is the eternal life that Jesus gives? To know God. What is the best thing in life? To know God. What in humans gives God most pleasure? Knowledge of Himself.” – J. J. Packer
There are no limits to the possible experiences we may have with Him.  But we must pursue Him. It must be a passion that drives us with determination,  a longing that consumes our very being, a love for Him that overtakes us. We mustn’t allow anything to stand in our way, no trial, no dart from the enemy, not even the opposition of our flesh. We must be relentless in our pursuit of His presence, for he is waiting for us to take a step closer, to go deeper, to leap into His very heart.
Know that God is eagerly awaiting the chase. “You have said, Seek My face. My heart says to You, Your face, Lord, will I seek, inquire for, and require.” Psalm 27:8
We have a confidence that he will hear our desire and respond, for His word says that if you: “Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you.” Matthew 7:7
I pray the following words repeat in your heart as you read them. Let it be your prayer , as you turn your heart to God and begin the chase.
Refused to be Denied – Desperation Band
I am Yours, You are mine
I refuse to be denied
All of You, is my heart’s cry
I refuse to be denied
I’m coming after You
I’m coming after You
I’m coming after You
Though I’m weak, though I’m dry
I refuse to be denied
All my life, a sacrifice
I refuse to be denied
