Welcome to the world, Rebekah Lynn

Well, as many of you already know, Rebekah Lynn was delivered last Monday (August 24th). Labor and delivery couldn't have been any better; or easier. From the time that contractions really kicked in, she was delivered 3 hours later and within 3 pushes. We headed to the hospital Monday morning around 6am. Once there we were told that I was only at a 3 and was still at a 3 around 11:30a. They gave me some inducing medicine and my body took off. The next time they checked me was around 2:30p and I was at an 8. The kids did wonderful and with things happening so fast they didn't even realize what was going on until she was delivered and Kenny told them that she was here (they were watching a movie on the computer). They were very excited though. Big Sister Madison never left her side as they looked her over in the warmer and checked her out. Jonathan made sure she was okay and then he was off doing his own thing.

Kenny was off work until Friday, so my mom and dad headed over and helped out. Recovering hasn't been too bad, but the lack of sleep took a toll on me right away. Thankfully mom came armed with meals or Kenny and the kids would have been making it by on cold meat and hamburger helper! Thank you again mom for all the food and the meals (I hope you left some food in your fridge for you and dad to eat!). I still say you over did it, but it is/was greatly appreciated and helped tremendously! =) My mom and dad leave today to make the drive back to Indiana so please keep them in your prayers as they depart and have a safe trip back.

We are still trying to figure out Rebekah's eating schedule. She does great during the night, but has been having her fussy moment in the afternoon, into the evenings. As with the other kids, I ended up going and getting Soy Formula and have had her on that since Friday evening I believe. She is starting to settle down some, but the afternoons/evenings are the trouble moments. As the soy formula gets through her system, I'm hoping she gets better. She goes in for her check up appt tomorrow morning though, so I will be getting more answers then. Concerned a little bit about her bilirubin levels, so I'm going to ask that they check that tomorrow for Jaundice; however, they say that newborn jaundice works itself out and clears up between 1 to 2 weeks. If that is the case then we are 1 week down! It was great to have mom and dad here to help with those fussy moments. I was starting to lose my nerve over the weekend! It was starting to sound like a circus with Rebekah's crying and the kids excitement! It was a little much for me to handle. They have learned to be quieter when she is sleeping in the living room. I try to keep her out in the living area to get used to all the daily activies and put her in her bed at least once during the day so she can get a good nap. Mom and dad stay so calm and quiet with her, I definately couldn't have worked through that (so calmly) on my own. Madison enjoys holding her hand and talking to her when she gets fussy. She's had to learn that when she starts crying you don't try to yell above her as that doesn't help the situation any. She's doing great with Rebekah though. She's a good big sister. Jonathan is doing well too. He loves being a big brother, but sometime I wonder if he gets a little embarrassed showing it-lol. He enjoys his time sitting with her and taking care of her when no one else is around.

Today I am on my own and am hoping for the best! We made the walk to school this morning and that went well. Rebekah fell back asleep in the stroller and thankfully didn't awake much when I unbundled her and fell back asleep when I put her back in bed. Her next feeding was due at 8:30a, however, she is still sleeping =) I'm just glad that she is getting some good rest in her bed as she hasn't been this last week.

Not much else is going on. Kenny is settling back into his work schedule after having much of last week off. I'll gloat on him a little bit as he came home yesterday with great news!! His farm is the number one multiplier in the PSM system! For those of you who don't understand that...trust me...it's a FANTASTIC thing! And a great achievement for Kenny's farm! They've came a LONG way while under his management.

This weekend Kenny's family will be visiting and Kenny will be able to enjoy the weekend not having to work (still on call though).
