Yesterday was the first day for the kids to attend Summer School. We got up at 5am to take Kenny to work so we could have the car because of rain. Thankfully the kids were full of excitement so the early morning wake up didn't phase them at all. They did really well. I was doing paperwork last week to register them while the principal took them around the school and showed them their classrooms so I was at a lost when we walked in. Thankfully they remembered. We walked Jonathan to his class and his went right in with no fear and introduced himself to his teacher. It was so weird to walk out of the class...just hoping that he was okay. I knew better though deep down. He was good to go! I did start to tear up...it hit me that both kids are now in school and growing up so fast. Such a grand milestone to be experiencing. Madison and I walked over to her class and she never looked back...I didn't even get to say bye! =(
The day was a long one. I didn't anything done. I didn't know what to do with myself! I anxiously awaited for 2:25 which is when they let out of school. They were full of stories and very excited about their first full day. The first thing Jonathan said when he got in the car was that he had a good day and didn't get sent to the principal's office =) So proud of that one!!!
Jonathan's teacher did his Kindergarten assessment yesterday and we received a good report on that one...he scored an 82 out of 100. Very happy with that since he didn't go to preschool. I was dissappointed as one of the assessment categories is knowing your address and phone number, and that we haven't gotten memorized with the move. That wasn't Jonathan's fault though.
