My first appointment was January 21st, 11 weeks along, which we waited for this day to mark when we would welcome everyone with our 'news'. We have since had our second appointment (February 17th--14 weeks) which went well. We took the kids with us to this appointment with anticipation of hearing the heartbeat. The kids did really well, and were SO excited! And well, they got more than they bargained for! The doctor had a hard time finding the heartbeat, so we did another ultrasound to ensure that everything was okay. I'm not sure that the kids have completely digested exactly what they witnessed; but to the best of our ability, we shared that it was the baby and where the head and legs were to give them as good of a visual as we could on what they were seeing.
Madison talks most about what she is going to do when the baby comes and how things are going to be different. What a big girl =) Jonathan has recently gotten into talking to the baby. Though, right now, he does it mostly telepathically. He is something else! And he is always saying how you have to be careful around mommy, because of the baby.
